Senior Building Surveyor

to join a growing team in the London & South-East region. This role offers significant career progression and the chance to work on a diverse range of high-profile projects across sectors such as retail, healthcare, energy, commercial property, residential, education, and public sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing a full suite of building surveying services, including feasibility studies, contract administration, and project delivery. As a Senior Building Surveyor, they will be expected to lead projects, mentor junior surveyors, and ensure the delivery of high-quality services to clients. The role is ideal for a professional with a collaborative approach, strong technical expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. Key Responsibilities: Lead multiple projects across a range of sectors, delivering building surveying services from inception to completion. Undertake feasibility studies, prepare specifications, obtain estimates, secure statutory approvals, and administer contracts for refurbishment and development projects. Apply standard building contracts such as JCT and NEC, ensuring effective contract management and project delivery. Provide professional surveying services, including conducting surveys, inspections, preparing schedules, and managing schemes in the London & South-East region. Mentor and support junior Building Surveyors, particularly in their APC (Assessment of Professional Competence), ensuring ongoing development and progression. Assist senior managers with day-to-day project management tasks and contribute to fee proposals and bids. Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and environmental standards, and are delivered on time and within budget. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring excellent customer service and managing client expectations. Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and assisting in bid writing and proposal submissions. The Ideal Candidate: Qualifications:

A B.Sc. (Hons) in Building Surveying or a similar degree accredited by RICS. Chartered status (MRICS) is highly desirable. Experience:

Significant experience in building surveying with a strong technical background, and a solid understanding of building surveying professional services. Leadership:

Experience mentoring and training junior team members, as well as managing workloads and projects effectively. Commercial Awareness:

Proven ability to manage client relationships and contribute to business development while maintaining a strong understanding of project profitability. Technical Expertise:

In-depth knowledge of building contracts (JCT, NEC) and experience drafting technical documents, including bids and reports. Health & Safety Knowledge:

A sound understanding of health and safety regulations and their application in building surveying projects. Skills:

Strong time management skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Personal Qualities:
