Are you an experienced accountant looking for a dynamic role in a fast-paced environment? Goodman Masson are supporting a highly respected professional organisation dedicated to supporting its members and driving excellence within the sector, who are seeking a Senior Business Accountant to join their team and play a crucial role in providing expert financial support to senior management and budget holders.

About the Role

As a Senior Business Accountant, you will:

Lead and manage two Assistant Business Accountants.

Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and devolved budget holders.

Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and relevance of monthly management reports and commentaries.

Take the lead in the quarterly forecasting process.

Support the year-end process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely provision of required information.

Build strong relationships with budget holders across various directorates to provide financial insight and guidance.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

Be a CCAB/CIMA Qualified Accountant

Be experienced in a recognised accounting software package (ideally Open Accounts).

Have up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.

Have an understanding of data protection and confidentiality requirements.

Have proven experience in:

Producing accurate and timely management accounts for multiple departments.

Budget setting and forecasting.

Leading and managing staff to ensure high performance and excellent service delivery.

Managing year-end processes and liaising with external auditors.

Importing and exporting data efficiently to accounting software.

Working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

Developing systems and driving continuous improvement.

Delivering formal training sessions to non-financial managers using Microsoft PowerPoint or similar.

Have strong IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

High attention to accuracy and detail.

The ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Experience in a member organisation or not-for-profit sector (desirable).
