A quick look at the role The Senior Business Analyst oversees the development and/or implementation of change initiatives and IT application changes within Biffa. The role is responsible for the specification, selection, development and testing of new solutions, plus the enhancement and support of systems currently in use. The Senior Business Analyst therefore must have a good working relationship with key personnel in the business units to ensure technologies are aligned to business needs and meet the priorities and objectives of the business. The role may also entail the overseeing and mentoring of Business Systems Analysts. Your core responsibilities Management of assigned projects to co-ordinate the activities of all stakeholders and ensure that projects are delivered on time and budget in line with agreed requirements. Facilitate the progression of initiatives, ensuring requirements are gathered, clearly documented in a functional specification to the agreed standards and agreed by all stakeholders. Where required, perform robust IT testing on projects, ensuring developments meet the agreed requirements. Detailed analysis and documentation of specific business processes required to achieve the project objectives. Follow the agreed application change control procedures. Promotion of the work of the IT department and cross-divisional selling of IT initiatives around the group. Promote a partnership culture between the IT department and divisions/functions within the group, including liaison with L&D for training literature and knowledge. Provide advice and guidance to the business on best solutions and adoptions of systems and processes. May oversee Business Systems Analysts, providing advice and guidance, direction and leadership as well as reviewing, overseeing and managing the Business Systems Analyst. Our essential requirements Proven ability to develop working relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Experience of working with packaged system vendors and formulating specifications for third parties to configure/develop. Able to quickly develop understanding of systems, processes and ways of working including ERP technologies. Ability to explain technical issues, ideas and solutions in a way non-experts can understand.
