This is a hunter role, in the role you are going to be cold calling or emailing people you have maybe not spoken to before. Daily outbound calls to merchants (these can be retail businesses, dental or veterinary practices amongst others). Working with a market-leading retail point-of-sale finance solution to corporate and commercial accounts. Collaborating with the Marketing team to generate leads, with 70% coming from your own insights and the rest through a collaborative approach. Engaging with a range of roles, including Finance Director, Managing Director, IT Director, and others to identify the right person to win. Aiming to win new clients that meet the objectives of the business area, driving good £ Volume and having low bad debt (customers not paying or fraud). Regularly meeting new opportunities alongside peers and managers. Participating in the development and roadmap of new products that will take Zopa ahead of the competition. About you:
As the Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM), you will report to the Head of Business Development, who is part of the POS commercial leadership team. Experience as a hunter in previous roles, able to initiate conversations with potential clients or re-engage with discussions that have gone cold. Responsible for generating a minimum of 70% of your own new business leads, including existing opportunities in our Salesforce that are currently unassigned. Familiarity with CRM platforms, such as Salesforce, is essential, along with an understanding of the importance of timely and accurate data input. Awareness of how your role will function within a regulated environment, particularly in consumer finance, including areas like Consumer Finance, Personal Loans, and Motor Finance. Prior experience in the Point of Sale Finance sector, fixed-term loans or revolving credit is an advantage. Bonus points for:
Experience in a regulated environment is a must; however, being from an existing provider of a like-for-like offer is not essential but a nice to have.
