The Tournament Contested every four years, the

UEFA European Championship

has been showcasing the continent's top talent since its inception in 1960 and is the world's third largest sporting event.

UEFA EURO 2028 is taking place across the UK & Ireland where Europe's top 24 national teams will compete in a 31-day, 51 match tournament, attended by over 3 million spectators and with a global TV audience of upwards of 2 billion people.

As one of the world's largest and highest-profile sporting events, UEFA EURO 2028 will attract the attention of the sporting and major event communities, the media, and the public at large across the UK & Ireland, Europe, and the World.

The Organisation UK & Ireland 2028 Limited

has been set up as a new company to locally deliver several UEFA requirements for the tournament, working closely with UEFA, 9 Host Stadiums, 8 Host Cities and other key stakeholders.

The Role This exciting role will lead a PMO function that integrates with UEFA's equivalent to provide a roadmap, monthly reporting, Board / Committee reporting, and risk & issue management for UK&I 2028. Work closely with internal functions and Government Partners to deliver tournament priorities, providing project delivery support and creating presentations.

What will you be doing?

Implementation, management and education of the programme management tools and function to facilitate continued engagement across the organisation.

Identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies across all FA projects.

Produce regular management information and reporting outputs including key trends, risks and dependencies.

Proactively use insights to influence change across projects before they materialise as issues.

Responsible for KPI tracking and reporting across all divisions to ensure the organisation is on track to meet strategic objectives.

Leverage central role to identify areas for improvement and champion greater integration across the organisation.

Provide project delivery support and presentation creation to projects as they emerge across the business.

Lead project management requirements for promotional events – including a strategy launch, qualifying draw and final draw – ensuring an integrated approach together with UEFA, UK&I partners and delivery agencies.

Recruit a team of 3 people and contribute to a culture that allows team members to thrive and achieve objectives collectively.

Execute additional tasks as required to meet changing priorities.

Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.

What are we looking for?

Essential Skills & Experience

Qualified to degree level or equivalent.

Proven skill in stakeholder management – both internal and external.

Ability to demonstrate flexibility where required.

Capable communicator with experience of dealing with sensitive and complex matters.

Developed and delivered a strategy and objectives.

Previous PMO experience.

First-hand project delivery experience e.g. event management etc.

Advanced Microsoft Office skills.

Advanced Reporting Writing skills.

Advanced Presentation skills (creation and delivery).

Advanced communication skills.

Desirable Skills & Experience

Formal qualification in project management such as Prince II or similar.

UEFA Events SA ways of working and structure.

Host Association ways of working and structure.

Project management of a competition draw.

Experience in a management consulting environment.

Where is the role based? Our head office is based at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London, however depending on your role you may be required to travel across the UK and Ireland to our 9 Stadiums and 8 Host Cities, with some roles being based in those locations. As an event delivery organisation, it's important that we have regular time together in the office and currently employees come together at least 2 days a week at HQ in Wembley, with the number of days in HQ increasing as the project develops with a minimum of 3-4 days needed in 2026-2027 and full time in the year of 2028.
