You will join a manufacturing business who’s group is made up of a number of production operations and are now entering an exciting new chapter in their history.
The Role
Joining the business as part of a new group wide business Procurement & Supply Chain strategy, the Senior Buyer will be responsible for Commodity and Sourcing strategy implementation delivering best cost with minimum risk to the Group. Key duties include-
Ownership of delivering cost out opportunities and leverage group synergies.
Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous terms
Work alongside Head of Supply Chain, Supply Chain Analyst, Engineering and Sales to ensure new products are sourced in line with key cost reduction targets
Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies
Monitor market trends and external factors affecting the supply chain
Support Continuous Improvement/development programs and direct material strategies
Ensure data accuracy and integrity in supply chain systems
What they're looking for
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background in Purchasing within Manufacturing and / or Engineering environments at Buyer / Senior Buyer or Manager level. You will be able to work at a strategic level focusing on cost out targets, supplier relationship development and data improvement. Strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders, you will be looking for a new career challenge where you will play a significant part in a new Purchasing strategy and successful commercial delivery.
