Senior Buyer to join our well-established client in their Colchester office. Our client has an industry reputation for their products and pride themselves on the standard of service and workmanship they provide. As Senior Buyer, you will assist in providing the smooth delivery of the finished goods procurement function as well as providing training to improve employee knowledge. It is essential that you possess a strong background in procurement, ideally gained within the construction industry, with an understanding of the ERP mainframe production/sales/CRM computer systems. The Role Ensure supplier relationships are stable and sustainable, building and maintaining good communication levels and procuring products effectively, including travel to supplier locations. Oversee the accurate administration of the function, including all documentation, ordering, pricing, shipment, warehousing suitability, stock control, and scheduling payments and prepayments. Identify and develop key suppliers to improve relationships/partnerships and mitigate potential future risk. Analyse buying trends to identify areas for improvement and/or cost saving. Develop and manage ESG responsibilities within the supply chain. Keep up to date on Government policy changes on imports and international regulatory authorities, communicating to the business where required. Liaise with Far East Supply Representative, assisting in managing supply chain relationships. Contact transport providers and intermediaries, organising shipping. The Person Must possess a strong background in Procurement. Formal CIPS qualifications or equivalent. Essential to have previous use of ERP mainframe production/sales/CRM computer systems (AX/D365/SAP). Ideally a background in the supply of construction products. Management experience within procurement. Ability to work under pressure and under own initiative. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a strong attention to detail and proven skills relating to accuracy. Willingness to travel in the UK and Overseas to meet suppliers on a regular basis. Benefits to You Competitive salary doe. 25 days holiday. On-site parking. Contributory Company pension.
