We are seeking experienced Senior Category Buyers to manage a selection of suppliers in either the Powertrain or Electrical commodities in order to achieve best value for Triumph through the supply chain for direct components required for our motorcycles. As a Senior Buyer you will develop category strategies and sourcing initiatives with the aim of supporting the Company’s production volume growth, maintaining and building on the current high quality standards, reducing development lead-times, reducing BOM cost and bringing new market technologies expediently to the products. You will work with the wider product, design and QC functions and champion the development of the performance of the existing supply base. Where appropriate you will identify new sources and rationalise Triumph’s current supply base. You will also be responsible for analysing trends in their categories and advise on the most suitable sources for upcoming motorcycle development programmes. At all times, you will also ensure cross functional collaboration with product, design and QC teams to arrive at balanced/considered outcomes. The following skills and experience are required; Strong experience within a Purchasing/Procurement department Ability to multi-task and be flexible to address immediate priorities and still manage deadlines with longer-term projects and strategic initiatives Ability to understand and discuss technical matters Good commercial awareness and acumen. Negotiation skills and able to prioritise. Excellent interpersonal skills to include problem solving, can-do attitude, self-motivation, and be able to negotiate and influence at all levels Effective organisational skills and time management Self-motivated and resilient. Flexible and adaptable Able to work under pressure. Excellent communication skills, clear and concise written and verbal skills and ability to write coherent reports Ability to make systematic and logical judgements Attention to detail and having a high degree of accuracy Desirable; Degree in Business or Engineering related field, or in any fields with relevant purchasing experience Previous experience in program purchasing, sourcing or new project development in an automotive / manufacturing environment
