Senior Buyer – Peterborough, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid work arrangement available of 2 to 3 days per week in the office)

About the Opportunity

Westinghouse Electric Canada is a leading supplier of custom equipment, process systems and engineering consultant services for the Nuclear industry in Canada. The successful candidate will join an innovative team that supports Westinghouse’s mission to provide clean energy solutions.

To strengthen our Supply Chain Management team, we are looking for experienced candidates for the position Senior Buyer for Global Supply Chain Solutions. The position will be responsible for the negotiation and issuance of global purchase orders and contracts.

What will you do?

Your day to day:

Lead commercial sourcing negotiations for issuance of purchase orders and contracts

Requests for quotations through RFQ/RFP and other methods, analyzing contract proposals, risk assessment, negotiating pricing, delivery, and Terms & Conditions aligned to our standards for materials, equipment, components, and services for assigned commodities

Manage the sourcing process from engagement through to Purchase Order issuance and contract signature

Drive cost savings and reductions

Conduct risk analysis of selected suppliers considering material cost trends and capacity constraints

Facilitate contract change activities (including change requests, amendments, orders, renewals, termination notices)

Manage supplier relations, resolving issues and improving supplier performance

Maintain accurate status, documentation, and data for each allocated contract in the contract management system

What will you bring?

Who you are:

BA in Supply Chain, Business or similar

Minimum 3 years of experience in global sourcing

Very good communication & negotiation skills and ability to build relationships

Strong analytical skills with an eye for details

Ability to multitask, work under pressure and proactively identify and solve issues

Experience in making decisions

Proficient use of SAP, Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, and PowerPoint is desirable

Knowledge of manufacturing, assembly or distribution of equipment and associated suppliers is desirable.
