We are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer with at least 6 years proven procurement experience to join the Procurement department. As an active member of the team, the successful candidate will assist with operational duties to meet the company’s profitability and cash management objectives.
Duties
Issue and send out purchase orders to suppliers
Set up delivery schedules to meet the sites’ capabilities, understanding delivery restrictions
Call off and follow up existing orders for materials and services
Manage and maintain Supplier data
Maintain the supply chain side of the company’s quality system (Supplier Log), adding new, updating current information of suppliers, and maintaining auditable data
Update and maintain supplier vendor performance reports with regards to quality, delivery, and lead-times.
Handle complaints efficiently and close them in a timely fashion
Reconcile invoices against actual deliveries and investigate invoice queries
Request quotes from suppliers
Assist with crucial month-end reporting
Visit suppliers and attend meetings, where relevant
Be the lead on key projects
Contract management on indirect procurement
Source new suppliers for indirect purchases
The Person
Minimum of 6 years’ purchasing experience
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Computer literate with practical working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience of working in the manufacturing sector
CIPS Level 4 qualification advantageous, or working towards it
