Senior Buyer Responsibilities:

Create and present "lessons learned" insights for senior leadership, focusing on key performance indicators. Leverage these insights to develop actionable strategies and share best practices with junior team members. Challenge and hold direct reports accountable for the performance and trading of their sub-categories. Ensure the team stays motivated, supported, and focused on meeting business objectives and targets. Collaborate with Merchandisers to define and implement clear pricing strategies, build well-balanced ranges, and identify opportunities for range optimisation. Monitor the product assortment to ensure alignment with market trends, customer demand, and profitability goals. Proactively identify gaps in the product range, capitalising on new opportunities to drive sales and enhance the business offering. Encourage team members to react quickly to sales trends and introduce new products that drive revenue. Review and approve product designs, including colour, prints, and shapes, while ensuring best-sellers are protected. Foster a culture of innovation by introducing newness to the product range. Maintain strong relationships with current suppliers, while actively seeking and onboarding new brands to meet business needs. Drive sourcing strategies for new styles, fabrics and trims, with a focus on both cost-efficiency and sustainability. Manage and drive reputable trading performance at margin level and cash sales. Utilise data and historical trends to make informed commercial decisions that optimise profitability and meet business targets. Work closely with your Merchandiser to manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) and seasonal budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals and department performance. Analyse historical and new data to inform trading decisions, ensuring every action is driven by robust commercial insights. Lead the team in managing the critical path for product development and delivery, ensuring all timelines and deadlines are met. Oversee key actions and ensure smooth coordination across departments to meet product launch schedules. Oversee stock management processes, including resolving stock issues, delays, and cancellations. Ensure all stakeholders are kept informed of any disruptions or changes to timelines. Take ownership of campaign planning, ensuring key styles launch on time and meet sales expectations. Manage critical dates, product launches, and campaign timelines to ensure maximum impact and profitability. Collaborate with Merchandisers to prepare accurate forecasting and projections for volume programs, ensuring the business is aligned on product demand and supply chain capacity. Lead cross-costing projects to protect and enhance margins, ensuring the business remains competitive while meeting financial targets. Attend trend and design meetings, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure product offerings are aligned with consumer demand and market trends.
