Senior Buyer
to join the team to help deliver projects across the country. We are a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK. This is a hybrid role, based at either our
Reigate
or
Winchester
offices. You'll be working on…. (what your role and responsibility is)
Work alongside the existing Buying team for the procurement of Site Materials in a cost-effective and timely manner. Support the Procurement strategy with the procurement of materials from approved and capable suppliers. Resolve supplier disputes and liaise with delivery teams as needed. Transact orders on
COINS
with suppliers daily, maintaining good communication with site teams to ensure timely supply deliveries. Liaise with Site teams and Suppliers to maintain good supplier performance and resolve any issues promptly. Ensure supplies are sourced from approved suppliers at the right commercial pricing with high-quality plant to meet our needs. Resolve any supplier invoicing or performance issues promptly to improve payment performance or service delivery, raising any critical issues with the Head of Supply Chain. Attend supplier meetings and/or site meetings as needed. Maintain and grow knowledge of Materials supplies, product trends, and innovation to support our business needs. You'll receive…. Comprehensive knowledge of civil engineering and highways/rail sectors. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills, comfortable building strong internal and external relationships. Proficiency in using IT, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to resolve supplier disputes and liaise with delivery teams efficiently. Knowledge of people management (desirable). Familiarity with the COINS IT system (desirable). Practical experience as a Senior Buyer in a
civil engineering environment. Degree or HNC/HND minimum in Civil Engineering and/or Purchasing or equivalent qualification/experience in a similar purchasing role.
