Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Senior CAD Designer - Electrical with a background in Nuclear or other highly regulated sector on a staff basis, to be working hybrid but willing to attend sites/offices in Barrow.
What you'll be doing:
Direct involvement with the design of our World Class Submarines, joining the team responsible for producing 3D models of Electrical Systems and Equipment Integration.
Using the CAD toolset to produce 3D models of electrical routed systems and electrical equipment integration e.g. switchboards and power units.
Mature and develop 2D electrical schematics / system diagrams.
Producing outputs (including 2D drawings and electronic data) to support manufacturing, installation and testing of our products.
Developing and maintaining close working relationships with other design teams and stakeholders.
Working as a team to produce an integrated design that meets the customer's expectations and agreed set of requirements.
Working with a mentor to develop your skills with tailored training and learning opportunities.
Your skills and experiences:
Relevant apprenticeship, engineering qualification or previous experience as an Electrical Designer / Draughtsperson e.g. HNC, ONC or degree qualification in relevant STEM subject or equivalent work experience.
Experience in electrical compartment integration and Engineering Standards at component and sub-component / assembly level.
Knowledge and understanding of electrical routed systems at both 2D and 3D level.
Understanding of CAD toolsets and techniques.
