Position Summary: As a CAE Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our design team with structural analysis for the development of new projects and current vehicle engineering. You will also be responsible for investigating and proposing solutions to field issues, while identifying opportunities for design improvements in terms of manufacturing, assembly, weight, and cost reduction. This role will require the use of CAE tools and other calculation methods, making it essential for the candidate to possess a strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and have the ability to critically analyze and propose improvements based on the analysis outcomes. Key Responsibilities of The CAE Engineer: Conduct structural analysis to support the design team on new projects and current vehicle engineering. Investigate and propose solutions to field issues, working closely with the current vehicle engineering team, body structures, and powerpack departments. Identify opportunities for design improvements, specifically in terms of manufacturing, assembly, weight, and cost reduction, in collaboration with the packaging and architecture team. Create and manage virtual DVP (Design Verification Plan) test procedures, and lead third-party suppliers with specific simulations. Ensure accuracy and representation of simulations by staying on top of deliverables and suggesting and implementing improvements based on lessons learned from past and current field issues. Continuously track and integrate new simulation technologies and techniques for optimal performance. Work independently with low supervision, while also collaborating effectively with other engineering functions. Construct finite element analysis models using existing naming, numbering, and model construction processes. Possess a high level of technical competence, with the ability to take engineering data and present a high-level summary to the management team. At least 8 years of static structural analysis experience in the automotive industry, with an awareness of dynamic analysis and MBD (Model-Based Design). Demonstrate practical knowledge of pre-processing, preferably in HyperMesh/HyperWorks interface, and experience with Altair/HyperWorks/OptiStruct. Seamlessly integrate between test and simulation, with an attitude to take initiatives and a high attention to detail. Exhibit resilience and a can-do mindset, with the ability to work in a start-up environment. Generate and present technical material concisely and effectively to suit different audiences. Manage third-party simulation companies when necessary, ensuring the same level of quality as in-house work. Track and review following activities related to simulations for lessons learned purposes. Provide recommendations for confidence building when confidence in results is low. Experience with commercial electric vehicles and legislation of electric vehicles. Awareness of instrumentation and data processing. Please note that if you are NOT a passport holder of the country for the vacancy, you might need a work permit.
