Rushden, Northamptonshire About the Nursing and Care Home Situated just outside Rushden, the home is designed in a modern style, offering a homely yet contemporary setting for its residents. The home provides personal, nursing, and dementia care for up to 48 residents. Role Overview The Senior Care Assistant role provides a rewarding opportunity to support residents in a compassionate and dedicated care setting. Focused on maintaining residents’ independence, dignity, and wellbeing, this role involves supervising a team, managing daily care routines, and promoting best practices in care. Key Benefits The organisation is committed to employee engagement and offers: Competitive Salary: Positioned within the top quartile of market rates Annual Pay Increases: Up to 8% based on performance, plus cost of living adjustments Paid Holidays: 28 days including Bank Holidays Pension: 3% employer contribution to the NEST Pension Scheme Training and Development: Fully funded qualifications, plus a bonus of up to £500 for completed training milestones Referral Incentive: Up to £1,000 for successful team member referrals Affordable Meals: £1 per course while on shift Additional Incentives for Short Notice Shifts DBS Check: Provided at no cost Uniforms Provided: As needed, subject to a fair use policy Key Competencies for Senior Care Assistant Strong leadership and people skills Ability to work under pressure Caring and nurturing approach Positive, enthusiastic attitude Good time management Strong written and oral communication Commitment to ongoing training Primary Responsibilities As a Senior Care Assistant, responsibilities include: Leading care support efforts to provide daily living assistance with a focus on dignity, respect, and independence Conducting medication rounds accurately and ensuring daily charts are completed to a high standard Leading shifts, supporting team members, and maintaining high standards of care Promoting best practices in care, addressing concerns, and participating in team evaluations as directed by the Home Manager Essential Qualifications and Experience Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ Level 3) Minimum of two years’ experience in a residential or nursing care setting Understanding of Person-Centred Care Planning Awareness of safeguarding principles and abuse prevention Proximity to the location (within a 30-minute commute) Preferred Skills and Experience At least two years’ experience in a senior care role within a nursing home setting Experience in dementia care NVQ Level 4 in Adult Health and Social Care or higher Knowledge of the National Care Standards Act 2000 Experience conducting effective, person-centred evaluations and team management Please note we will be shortlisting and interviewing candidates on a rolling basis until the role is filled.
