individual to join a children's residential service in the area of Carmarthenshire as a Senior Children's Support Worker, supporting young people between the ages of 8 - 18 years with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence. We are looking for an

Take greater responsibility for mentoring and supporting newer staff members. Encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age. Maintain a homely, friendly culture and environment in the homes. Deal with challenging behaviours when needed. Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare. Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being. Maintain a safe environment for the young people. Ensure the safety of the students and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the individuals' care plans, guidelines, reward systems, and preferred methods of communication. Support taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically. Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives, such as psychologists.
