Specific Skills
Experience of C&I engineering in the delivery of the full project life-cycle within chemicals, petrochemicals, oil and gas, and power generation industries. Working knowledge and experience of C&I design standards and legislation. Experience of Safety Instrument Systems and the Functional Safety activities and life-cycle. Experience of hazardous area equipment selection and installation design requirements including relevant standards. Experience in the specification, modelling, design, purchase, installation and commissioning of Appreciation of electrical design. Effective report writing and presentation skills. Experience of reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, schematic diagrams, single line diagrams, protection systems, operating and maintenance manuals and procedure manuals. Understanding of project control processes and management of change. It is the responsibility of the Senior C&I Engineer to support the delivery of defined engineering tasks for different projects to the highest standards complying with legal obligations and client statement of requirements. In addition, the role involves supporting the development of proposals for new business opportunities, provision of consultancy services and deputy line management responsibilities of the team. Where required perform the role of ‘Lead Engineer’ for appropriate projects in line with the scope of work and as-sold budgets. Support resource management within the C&I Discipline. Providing inputs to MPPs, recruitment and also conducting performance reviews for staff personnel. Assessing competence within the C&I discipline. Support Design Assurance for C&I discipline. Provide on-going technical support to projects and team. Provide technical expertise for the specification, design, purchase, installation and commissioning of C&I systems. Produce, review and understand associated documentation relating to the design, installation and operation of C&I systems. Analyse data, troubleshoot performance, conduct root cause analysis and make recommendations to improve C&I issues. Make decisions involving technical issues, budget considerations, project schedules and safety with a minimum level of supervision. Assist in providing user requirement specifications and/or datasheets for all items of C&I equipment, ensuring compliance with company procedures and all relevant standards. Support roll out of engineering procedures, work instructions, standards and guidance documents. Support the development of proposal and delivery for new business opportunities, including due diligence and consultancy.
