Senior Civil Engineer

is sought to join an established engineering consultancy in Exeter. Specialising in drainage, SuDS, and infrastructure projects, the role involves leading and supporting the delivery of innovative solutions across a range of sectors. Working on diverse projects, the Senior Civil Engineer will manage designs, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the consultancy’s continued growth. This opportunity is ideal for a professional looking to advance their career in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Responsibilities: Leading the design and management of drainage, SuDS, and other infrastructure projects. Contributing to project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery. Producing detailed designs and technical reports compliant with industry regulations. Collaborating with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective, sustainable engineering solutions. Representing the consultancy at client meetings and fostering strong working relationships. Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians. Supporting business development through the identification of new opportunities preparation of project bids if/when applicable.

Requirements: A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent Chartered or near-Chartered status (ICE) desirable but not essential. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in civil engineering specifically including knowledge of SuDS/drainage design. Strong technical expertise in sustainable drainage systems, drainage and stormwater design. Proficiency in industry-standard software such as MicroDrainage, Infodrainage, Flow or Civil 3D, and AutoCAD. A proven track record of leading projects and delivering high-quality outcomes. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A strong commitment to sustainability and modern engineering approaches.
