Senior Civil Engineer

The Senior Civil Engineer or Principal Civil Engineer job itself, which is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to further their career in the industry. This is a new office within a well-established consultancy that is looking to organically grow. You would be an integral number two to the Director, helping to facilitate that growth. More specifically: Manage clients, projects, and commercials. Liaising with Local Planning Authorities. Taking the reins on projects and progressing into leadership roles. Help guide and mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and experience. Oversee designs to ensure they meet standards, regulations, and client needs. Manage resources, schedules, and deliverables to keep projects running smoothly. Build strong relationships with clients and external contacts like contractors and councils. Ensure work complies with health, safety, and environmental standards. Check and review project work to maintain high quality and resolve issues early. Support bids and tenders with technical input and cost estimates. Look for opportunities to grow the business through new projects or relationships. You will be set on a great career trajectory, you'll be number 2 to the Director in a new office, with fantastic exposure into further management positions. You will have To be successful as a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer, you will have a healthy mix of the following: Ideally 5+ years UK experience, senior role. Ideally 6+ years UK experience with experience in principal position, principal role. Highway design experience, dealing with Section 278 / 38. Drainage design, dealing with Section 104. Previous experience managing clients and expectations. Experience dealing with local planning authorities. Good commercial acumen.
