As part of an expanding engineering division, we are looking for a talented qualified engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a wide range of development schemes, working with a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional results.

Role Overview

This role, based in Shrewsbury with travel across the UK, offers the chance to work on a varied and stimulating portfolio of infrastructure projects. You will lead the engineering input for schemes related to site levels, highways, sewers, SuDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems), and flood risk management, taking projects from feasibility through to construction. If you're an aspiring engineer, we offer comprehensive training and mentorship to guide you towards professional qualifications. Less experienced candidates with the right qualifications and enthusiasm are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to the design and delivery of infrastructure projects in the development sector. Carry out feasibility assessments, design drainage systems (SuDS and foul water), and manage flood risk infrastructure. Design roadways, junctions, and provide detailed technical input for construction. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and guidance. Manage client relationships and support marketing efforts to grow the engineering service. Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and consultants to deliver projects effectively.

Person Specification

Enthusiastic and client-focused, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently. A solid understanding of civil engineering design, particularly in the UK. Ideally, you will hold or be working towards an HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering, with professional qualifications (EngTech, IEng, or CEng) or a commitment to pursuing them. Experience in drainage design, road design, flood risk assessments, and technical approvals (S38, S278) is desirable. Proficient with relevant software tools (AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage). Previous UK design experience and a full driving licence are required.

Working Hours & Benefits

37.5 hours per week, with flexible working arrangements. Competitive salary based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Full funding for relevant professional memberships and CPD events. Private Healthcare scheme, Employee Assistance Programme, and annual flu jab. 35 days of holiday per year (pro-rated), plus a day off for your birthday and additional holiday after three years of service. Enhanced pension scheme through NEST and salary sacrifice schemes for Electric Vehicles and Cycle to Work. Potential for a discretionary bonus and access to employee loans and discounts on services.
