I am currently partnering with a leading UK-based Multidisciplinary Engineering Consultancy, located in Colchester, specialising in Civil and Structural engineering. They are looking for a driven and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who thrives in a leadership role, guiding a team of engineers while managing complex and high-profile projects. The position offers involvement in both the technical and strategic aspects of project delivery, business development, and client relationship management. Key Responsibilities for this Senior Civil Engineering role: Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of engineering professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects in accordance with company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards. Contribute actively to business development efforts to expand and diversify the civil engineering capabilities within the company. Oversee the development of technical solutions and reports, from the conceptual stage through to implementation. Conduct site inspections, reviews, and data analysis (maps, reports, tests, drawings) to identify potential risks, costs, and material requirements. Provide technical guidance and resolve issues creatively to ensure the smooth progression of projects. Engage with clients and stakeholders to fully understand their needs, delivering solutions that exceed expectations. Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, manage budgets, and ensure that deliverables meet deadlines. Lead client communications, managing relationships, and attending meetings to gather project requirements. Ensure high technical standards are maintained across all aspects of work, ensuring alignment with project briefs and delivering cost-effective results. To be considered for this Senior Civil Engineering role, you will need to have the following: Proven experience in civil engineering, with a relevant degree or qualification. Strong technical expertise in design and visualization software. Demonstrable project management experience, with the ability to handle multiple complex projects at once. Deep understanding of engineering procedures and standards, with the ability to apply them effectively. Excellent business development skills and a proven ability to build new and maintain existing client relationships. A strategic mindset with experience in implementing successful engineering solutions. Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience managing teams at various levels.
