Senior Civil Engineer Wakefield £50k-£55k plus benefits Our client is a leading engineering consultancy based in Wakefield who currently have an opportunity for an experienced civil engineer on a full time permanent basis. Role Overview: As a Civil Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading and delivering complex infrastructure projects, including highway, drainage, external works, and earthworks designs. With your extensive experience and leadership abilities, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects, overseeing design processes, and ensuring high standards are met from start to finish. You'll be involved in the entire project lifecycle, working closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and delivery of highway, drainage, external works, and earthworks projects across a variety of sectors Produce detailed civil engineering designs, including plans, calculations, and specifications, in compliance with relevant standards and regulations Use MicroDrainage software or equivalent, along with AutoCAD Civil 3D, for ground modelling, drainage, and earthworks analysis Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that each is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required technical standards Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure effective communication and successful project outcomes Oversee and mentor junior engineers, helping to guide their development and provide technical support Represent the company at client meetings and on-site visits as needed Review and manage project progress, proactively identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may arise Key Requirements: At least 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a broad background across varied sectors Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and interact with clients and stakeholders Proficiency in MicroDrainage or equivalent software and AutoCAD Civil 3D (ground modelling and earthworks experience is preferred) Experience in producing designs for highways, drainage, external works, and earthworks Proven ability to manage projects through to successful completion, ensuring quality and compliance with all technical requirements A minimum qualification of Level 4 BTEC Higher National Certificate in Civil Engineering Experience in mentoring and managing teams is highly desirable On offer is a competitive salary in line with your experience, flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to work on challenging schemes.
