An exciting opportunity has arisen in the LNWH NHS trust for a Clinical Fellow in Clinical Haematology to work in our newly formed Directorate of Oncology and Haematology based at Northwick Park Hospital (NPH). This is an exciting opportunity to join an established and vibrant department in the further expansion and development of clinical and diagnostic Haematology within the North West London sector. The appointees will join 7 Specialist Trainees in delivering clinical, laboratory, diagnostic, administrative, research and teaching responsibilities. The successful applicant must have an interest in Haematology and acute medicine with experience in the management of patients. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who wish to pursue a career in haematology and develop the skills and experience required for this. The applicants will be expected to work with the multi-disciplinary teams on the ward, supporting the Consultants and providing supervision to junior medical staff. This is an opportunity to develop further skills and gain experience in Clinical Haematology. Candidates will gain experience of both malignant and non-malignant haematology and have access to weekly seminar and morphology teaching. Applicants should have full GMC registration and experience in medicine. Previous haematology experience is desirable. Participate with colleagues in the continuous provision of haematology services provided by the Trust. Participate fully with the multidisciplinary team in the care of haematology inpatients and outpatients. Cooperate in the department's audit and research programme. Undertake regular weekly ward rounds for inpatients. Participate in the assessment of emergency patients in the accident and emergency department. Participate in outpatient clinics. Supervise and teach junior medical staff and students (morphology or journal club). Participate fully in the MDT, Clinical Governance and M+M reviews. Adhere to the Trust's Infection Prevention and Control Policies and maintain high standards of infection control. Person specification

Registration

MBBS, preferably with intercalated BSc. An acceptable postgraduate qualification, such as MRCP or equivalent. Candidates who have some MRCP examinations passed but have not completed the full MRCP qualification will be considered. Advanced Life Support training. Knowledge

Familiarity with the area of study of Haematology. Proven experience in an acute hospital setting. Sound knowledge and experience in the management of critically ill patients.
