Job summary Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust Senior Clinical Fellow in Endoscopy We invite applications to work with us in one of the most exciting and innovative NHS Foundation Trusts in England, with a wealth of teaching, training and management opportunities. This is a fixed term post designed to provide the experience and education necessary to allow Doctors to progress in Endoscopy. Main duties of the job The position of Senior Clinical Fellow in Endoscopy is designed to support the Endoscopy Service at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals with the opportunity to acquire further specialist endoscopy training and academic skills. The post-holder will also be supporting ward cover for the Gastroenterology Ward at Barnet Hospital. The post-holder will work alongside consultant gastroenterologists and GI surgeons and will be responsible to the Gastroenterology Lead. This is a 12-month fixed term post designed for supporting the Endoscopy Services. The post-holder would also be required to take part in audit, 2-3 Endoscopy lists weekly as well as Gastroenterology outpatient clinics. The post holder will be involved in new service developments such as Trans nasal endoscopy (TNE) and bowel cancer screening (BCSP). Person Specification World Class Values Essential Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values Education/Qualifications Essential GMC registration MRCP part 2 written Working towards MRCP Paces Experience Desirable Ability to demonstrate broad clinical skills in the management of all patients 18 months general professional training experience at SHO level in general medicine Skills in common generic practical procedures (especially central lines, chest drains) 12 months experience in acute unselected takes Previous registrar experience Skills & Aptitudes Essential Evidence of academic excellence Ability to work as part of a team Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
