Main duties of the job

This role is for a Middle Grade Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. It is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for 6 months, with a 1:14 middle grade rota covering Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

While this is not a training post, we provide ample opportunities to develop your expertise in all areas of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Enjoy a friendly and collaborative workplace where your contributions are valued.

Applicants must hold full GMC registration and a license to practice. We are open to part-time, or job share applications.

Job description Job responsibilities Gynaecology theatre sessions Specialist Gynaecological clinics Participation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology emergency care To participate in the departments teaching, audit, and educational activities. Day to day running of the emergency Gynaecology, labour ward, obstetric wards, antenatal clinic Person Specification Qualifications / Training Essential Hold a current licence to practice from the General Medical Council MRCOG part 2 or qualification of an equivalent level Desirable Postgraduate academic degree College Fellowship Knowledge Essential Experience of audit Previous Experience Essential Recognition of and ability to undertake the initial management of an acutely ill patient Demonstrate aptitude for practical skills e.g., hand-eye coordination, dexterity, visuospatial awareness Demonstrate an interest in, commitment to and have broad experience in obstetrics & gynaecology Ability to apply sound clinical knowledge and judgement to problems Desirable NHS experience Fitness to Practice Essential Up to date and fit to practice safely and aware of own training needs. Evidence of engagement with appraisal and revalidation Skills Essential Able to evidence engagement with clinical governance and the identification of errors and the learning from errors Able to show situational awareness and application of good decision making Can evidence leading on patient safety issues and achieving a change in practice. Experience of supervising undergraduates, doctors in training and other colleagues. Desirable Ability to teach clinical skills Experience in organising educational activities.
