Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Neurology, based at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children for a period of 12 months. This job is suitable for doctors at ST6+ level wishing to gain experience in paediatric neurology.
Main duties of the job
The placement provides excellent experience in all aspects of paediatric neurology with a focus on paediatric neuromuscular disorders. The paediatric neurology service for Bristol and the South West lies within a fully integrated joint neuroscience service. It provides tertiary level services to Bristol and the South West region (population over 5.5 million) and a secondary/tertiary service to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. Bristol is, therefore, the largest paediatric neurology department in the UK outside London. The paediatric neurology department in Bristol currently has 8 full-time consultants.
This post is compliant with the new junior doctor contract. This post is not a recognised Deanery approved training post but the post holder will participate in the same timetable and have the same training opportunities as training post holders. There are excellent facilities for personal development and an active research interest is desirable.

Maintain full registration with the GMC

Recent experience and familiarity of UK hospital systems and practices (or equivalent).
3 Years whole time experience in hospital service as SHO or high grade.
18 Months minimum experience in Paediatric
