The unit is run by a team of dynamic consultants with a broad range of interests. The job includes up to three endoscopy sessions providing training in gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and basic colonoscopy. There are two gastroenterology out-patient clinics per week. Post-holders are expected to play an active role in the research programme on the unit. Senior Clinical Fellows have in the past produced research or audit data that has resulted in first author publications and/or presentations at national/international meetings. Job responsibilities
The Senior Clinical Fellow will work in close collaboration with all departments and other medical, professional and managerial colleagues to provide high quality healthcare to the Trust's patients. They would be expected to form a good working relationship with all health professionals working in the Trust and help to provide a comprehensive Gastroenterology service for the local population. The Post holder will be expected to participate in the Medical on-take rota. Person Specification
Qualifications
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification MRCP (UK) Part 1 and Part 2 or equivalent experience Advanced Life Support (ALS) or be in the process of acquiring within a grace period of starting Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council Experience
Significant years full time post-graduate training or equivalent Competence and expertise in Acute and General Medicine Disclosure and Barring Service Check
