Main duties of the job
The management of inpatient stay is one of the trust's key performance areas. As well as managing attendances in collaboration with acute medicine and Emergency Care, we are also closely associated with innovative and collaborative Intermediate Care schemes such as the Home-based rehabilitation team and Bed-Based rehabilitation team. A team of Discharge coordinators, responsible for the management of complex discharges across the Hospital, also works from within the PRUH.
The team is also closely associated with the Medical School and regards the inter-relationship between clinical services and research and development as a key component in delivering high quality patient-centred services.
About us
He/she will also be expected to help deliver teaching and training to more junior colleagues including MRCP PACES teaching. He/she will be expected to deliver teaching and training to year 5 and year 4 medical students attached to the ward. The post holder is expected to participate in the departmental teaching programme activities like journal club and regular medical teaching for all junior doctors and trainees.
