The appointment is for a fixed term period of 12 months. As this post is not recognised as a 'training post', full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required. If the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK, sponsorship will be required.

The post holder will gain comprehensive experience in conducting high-quality service redesign and quality improvement in the aortic stenosis pathway. Experience in the diagnosis and management of patients with Aortic Stenosis is expected, and the output from this will lead to publication and presentations at national conferences. Registered with the GMC with a license to practise MBChB or equivalent MRCP or equivalent Clinical governance and audit Essential Committed to and understands the principles of clinical governance Understands the principles outlined in the GMC document Good Medical Practice Understands the requirements of Medical Appraisal and Revalidation Clinical Experience Essential Ability to offer sound clinical opinion on a range of acute medical conditions Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients IMT3 level or above Desirable ST level training in cardiology Core Cardiology training completed Experience in interventional Cardiology/Imaging BSE accreditation in Echocardiography Research Essential Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate.
