Main duties of the job
Provide a specialist pharmacist service for patients under the care of the renal team. Provide a comprehensive pharmacist service to the emergency admissions unit. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including ensuring the safe and appropriate use of high cost medicines. Review of new and existing treatments for the local and Greater Manchester formularies. Contribute to departmental research and quality improvement activities. Line management of junior pharmacists and the opportunity to tutor a pharmacist on their postgraduate clinical diploma course. Participation will be expected in the departmental weekend and on-call rotas.

Qualifications
Essential
Vocational master's degree in pharmacy or equivalent. Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent. Non-medical prescriber.
Desirable
Leadership qualification.
Registration
Essential
Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council of GB as a practicing pharmacist.
Knowledge and skills
Essential
Substantial post qualification band 6 and 7 hospital pharmacy experience. Good all-round clinical knowledge and practical clinical skills.
Desirable
Substantial experience of renal medicine.
