To partake in clinical pharmacy duties ensuring core clinical pharmacy activities are undertaken in the clinical specialty Leadership, management and directorate/service support roles To line manage and support more junior pharmacists and/or pharmacy technicians in pharmacy To take full part in the 7 day shifted rota and bank holiday duties Person specification Training & Qualifications Essential criteria

B.Pharm / BSc (Pharmacy) or MPharm GPhC registered Diploma/MSc in clinical pharmacy or other appropriate post graduate qualification Demonstrates continued professional development Independent Prescribing Qualification, or willing to complete within 12 months Desirable criteria

Related post-graduate qualification Training in or experience of prescribing in anticoagulation use and dosing Experience Essential criteria

Wide previous experience (post registration) in hospital pharmacy Broad knowledge base of clinical areas. Experience of day to day supervision and assisting in training of pre-registration pharmacists and/or technicians. Understanding of issues affecting the NHS Desirable criteria

Evidence of project work completed Experience of working within stroke or anticoagulation specialities. Experience of working in outpatient clinic Experience in undertaking, and reporting/presenting audit/research work at local (Trust) level. Experience working with patients with speech and swallowing difficulties Communication and Relationship Skills Essential criteria

Good interpersonal, negotiating and presentation skills, both written and verbal skills. Ability to interact with multidisciplinary teams. Good communication skills with multidisciplinary team members and own profession. Able to defend opinions in a constructive manner when challenged. Empathy with patients, relatives and pharmacy customers. Excellent communication skills with patients and carers. Desirable criteria

Teaching skills Analytical and Judgement Skills Essential criteria

Critical evaluation of literature and literature searching skills for analysing, interpreting medicines information, production issues, drug therapy decisions and patient information. Able to assess and minimise the risk in medication process. Able to analyse patient specific data to advise on therapy management. Desirable criteria

Experience of analysing expenditure. Planning and Organisation Skills Essential criteria

Organised, able to prioritise own work and assist others to prioritise. Positive thinker Problem solver Physical Skills Essential criteria

Competent ICT skills, word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, retrieval of information from internet. Other requirements Essential criteria

Self-motivated, conscientious, confident, accurate, assertive Ability to work alone and make decisions including when participating in senior on call rota. Weekend and shift working as per job description Must have the ability to wear appropriate PPE required for the role Desirable criteria
