Senior Clinical Support Worker – Galton Day Unit

Detailed job description and main responsibilities The employee will work closely with the nursing team and nurse in charge to know what tasks are required on a daily basis. The employee will be responsible for using the relevant IT systems to identify patients who require treatment. They will be competent in taking and acting on observations. The employee will be competent in venepuncture, or willing to learn. The employee will be competent in Line flush or willing to learn, and PICC dressings. The employee will be responsible for maintaining mandatory training and adhering to trust policies. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria NVQ Level 2 in a relevant subject or the equivalent level of working experience Knowledge Essential criteria Basic understanding of the NHS Some knowledge of data protection and patient confidentiality Some knowledge of infection control Experience Essential criteria Working within a multi-professional team Skills Essential criteria Ability to communicate with the general public Ability to project a professional manner and approach Values Based Question Essential criteria Give an example of a time where you have demonstrated a 'can do' attitude (including the situation you were in) and the outcome
