As a Cloud Platform Architect, you will be responsible for translating business requirements into secure, scalable, and proven cloud solutions. You will have an expertise in designing and implementing solutions that run on Microsoft Azure and have experience in development and DevOps processes. This person will work within the Cloud Platforms team and will collaborate with teams across multiple business groups driving the implementation of the cloud solutions strategy. You will have experience in a broad set of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services and how to utilize these services for business solutions. You will be required to make design choices that optimize cost, operations, performance, reliability, and security. In addition, you will work across development teams and other IT stakeholders to cloud design and deployment methodologies. Key Job Accountabilities Design and implement cloud solutions for our various cloud platforms. Guide the IT leadership, business stakeholders, and cloud solution owners towards the proper cloud transformation paths (i.e. Refactor, Repurchase, Replatform/Rehost). Perform analysis and translate our business requirements into cloud solution requirements while providing best practices and guidelines. Prepare and present technical design documentation and task-level project plans to the business, stakeholders, cloud solution owners, and technical team members. Working with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and other cloud solution owners to establish cloud technology roadmaps and release strategies. Research and present new cloud solutions that best fit the business and IT objectives while aligning with the overall organization’s cloud strategy. Maintain a deep technical knowledge of the cloud providers (specifically Azure) and services in the market. Maintain a deep technical knowledge of datacenter technologies such as Active Directory, Windows Server, Virtualization, Storage, and Network frameworks. Develop key relationships and networks with key IT leadership, business stakeholders, and other cloud solution owners internally and externally. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience. 10+ years of experience in Information Technology within a variety of technical roles (applications, infrastructure, IT project management, identity, networking). 7+ years of experience as a hands-on Cloud Engineer role, specifically Microsoft Azure. 3+ years of experience in a Senior Cloud Engineer role or Senior Cloud Architect role. Preferred Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Azure Network Engineer Associate, and/or Azure Data Engineer Associate. Expert with industry frameworks and methodologies: ITIL/Agile/Scrum/DevOps/SRE. Must have worked in a large global organization. Expert in architecting complex enterprise-grade solutions in on-premises and cloud environments (specifically Azure). Expert understanding of cloud architecture and governance models for Azure platform infrastructure, best practices & standards, development operations (DevOps), and financial operations (FinOps). Expert configuration, deployment, & design experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. Expert configuration, deployment, & design experience with Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions such as App Services, Predictive & Forecasting Analytics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Lake, Stream Analytics, IoT Hub, and Enterprise Applications. Expert configuration, deployment, & design experience with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions such as virtual machines or desktops, storage solutions, virtual networking and firewalls, and other cloud computing services. Expert configuration, deployment, & design experience with global cloud security & compliance regulations (specifically impacts to Azure design and data protection).
