Leading on the commercial management and contract administration processes, you will oversee everything from pre-contract to post-contract to deliver distinct programmes of construction work within capital and operational delivery. Alongside your team of Quantity Surveyors/Commercial Managers, duties will include but are not limited to: Drafting and creating contracts in collaboration with the wider team. Finalising terms and conditions (e.g., key risks, dates, incentive mechanisms, etc.). Managing post-contract variations, claims, and disputes. Assuring and auditing contractor payments and claims. Being the key liaison between internal stakeholders and the supply chain. Managing engaged commercial professionals. These are newly created positions as part of our expansion for AMP8, in which we will be delivering one of the largest capital and operational delivery plans the industry has seen! There is seldom the opportunity to take part in a project of this scale and with such a breadth of transformation planned in the next 5 years, we can offer you longevity and stability here at Southern Water! About You At its heart, this is a technical job. We are keen to hear from applicants who have completed a Quantity Surveying or other Construction-related degree, as well as experience within a commercial and construction role. The ideal candidate will be experienced in dealing with NEC contracts, will ideally be RICS (or equivalent) registered, and NEC accredited. You will be an excellent communicator and have a track record of succeeding in collaborative delivery environments. We recognise the value that can be added to our teams when hiring from beyond our industry; therefore, we welcome applications from people outside of the water sector! Package This role will be full-time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working between our Falmer office and home, as well as site visits being required on an ad-hoc basis. We are offering a competitive salary depending on skills and experience as well as other benefits including: Company and performance-related bonus Generous pension with up to 11% company contribution Life assurance payment equal to four times your annual salary Health benefits through a Cash Plan Two paid community volunteering days a year 25 days annual holiday Occupational health service Perkbox benefits offering discounts and savings on several products and experiences Study support may be available for job-related qualifications We offer competitive maternity leave and flexible return to work options Join our Commercial Management team and see how far your career could progress with a company committed to career progression, training and development opportunities, our customers, and the environment. Does this opportunity excite you but you’re not 100% sure if you meet all the requirements for the role? Or are you concerned that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t possible given your personal circumstances? Whilst we can’t accommodate every flexible working request, we’ll try to find a practical solution. So why not engage with us and find out more about this role? Privacy Statement: Please note: If you are an existing Southern Water employee, you will need to confirm within your application that your Manager is aware of your application. All applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK. You will need to provide evidence of eligibility (e.g., a passport or long birth certificate and proof of NI) and current proof of address (dated within the last 3 months) will be required as part of the recruitment process.
