What you’ll do

Reporting to the Enterprise Commercial Team Leader, the Commercial Lead is responsible for leading strategic and complex bid responses for Vodafone Business’s largest customers, typically with a value of up to £100m+ Total Contract Value. This is a customer-facing role that requires a deep understanding of Vodafone’s complex products and solutions as well as the customer’s business challenges. The Commercial Lead will create a strong commercial strategy that delivers against the customer’s objectives whilst also driving profitable growth for Vodafone that mitigates business risk.

This role will align closely with the sales teams to support their strategy and will lead complex commercial negotiations to successful closure. This role requires strong relationships across the organisation to drive optimal collaboration and alignment and ultimately full governance of all bids. The Commercial Lead will be accountable to execute against their objectives via a strong virtual bid team and multiple partner services.

Key Responsibilities:

Bringing thought leadership, innovative deal structuring, and commercial expertise which mitigates risk and contributes to the growth of the segment. Leadership of pre-qualification Deal Shaping, Win Strategy, and negotiation plan. Collaborative creation of a compelling Bid Strategy through strong alignment with business stakeholders. Strong stakeholder relationships across all functions involved in successfully delivering a strong compelling proposal. Attend Customer meetings and manage relationships to drive successful proposals and contract negotiations.

Who you are

Proven Commercial acumen achieved through experience working on complex sales pursuits in either a commercial, sales, or bid related role. Extensive experience in Commercial, Sales, or Operations, leading virtual matrix teams in the delivery of complex projects. Data-driven with strong analytical and insight focus. Proven leadership working with customers, internally and externally, and a strong appreciation of sales processes and methodologies. Consistent delivery of exceptional results through matrix team structures driving optimal partner relationships in delivering the right outcomes for the Bid. Strong decision making – ability to balance conflicting priorities and strong, individual personalities. Proven negotiation skills with customers up to C level. Strong leadership of Risk during every bid, able to identify most appropriate mitigation actions to reduce Vodafone’s exposure. Understand the competitive landscape of our markets, and of our customer base, and act as a credible advisor to CxO level. Ability to navigate complexity and influence outcomes to support customer proposals.
