Senior Commercial Manager

to join our Global Finance team with primary responsibility to provide commercial and strategic advice to the Sales organization and managing all contracts related to the sale of products and/or services in line with Adtran’s core business practice(s). The Senior Commercial Manager oversees and ensures the commercial support for the Sales organization in the UK & Ireland, Western Europe and/or other regions within EMEA, regarding contract management, credit management, business cases, and general commercial and contract support. The key responsibilities of this role will include: Be the single point of contact for commercial support and all new and existing agreements for the Sales organization in the UK & Ireland, Western Europe (and/or other regions as needed). Manage the contract portfolio. Review, draft, negotiate and administer a wide variety of sales agreements and related documents (NDAs, termination letters, amendments, representation forms, etc.) in accordance with organizational and departmental policies, perform risk assessments of proposed terms and conditions to understand financial, legal, and budgetary implications and work with the Sales leads to develop recommendations to minimize potential risks. Manage customer credit lines. Set and oversee customer credit limits, run customer credit checks, manage transactional credit blocks, and act as liaison with Account Receivable. Analyze customer projects and develop business cases. Provide support on pricing/bidding, support with creation of price lists and e-auction tools via excel. Manage approval of projects according to the Limits of Authority. Ensure business cases and agreements are aligned with all stakeholders, completed on time, and all final contract documents are received, properly stored in the contract database, and periodically reviewed. Support quarterly revenue forecasts in close work with Accounting, Sales Controlling and Sales Operations. Other tasks and responsibilities: Support of Sales, Controlling, and Accounting (e.g., revenues, margins, forecasts). Lead or support projects to improve commercial processes (e.g., price and margin improvements), credit management processes, contracting processes, business cases, and related reporting and analyses. Together with the regional Sales’ team leads, explore and evaluate opportunities, develop strategic business propositions, measure client/account capabilities, and provide flexible pricing models and options to improve revenue management. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, skills and experience required: Proven experience in commercial contracting, Sales, or Finance. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance or Business Administration. Excellent verbal and written communication. Demonstrable problem-solving skills. Ability to work with discretion; must be able to keep matters confidential. Resilient; must be able to handle a wide variety of time sensitive matters. Ability to develop positive working relationships at all levels. Proficient in Excel. Working knowledge of SAP and SalesForce.com is a plus. Travel requirements: Occasional European travel. Scope of employment: Fulltime / Permanent. DBS check will be required (Adtran to arrange). Primary location of job: Within the UK.
