testing, inspection, and verification

of all

systems and equipment

onboard the vessel, ensuring they function according to design specifications and meet all

safety and regulatory requirements. Planning and organising:

Creating and managing commissioning plans, schedules, and resources for assigned projects. Technical expertise:

Possessing in-depth knowledge of various shipboard systems, including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. Testing and verification:

Executing or supervising tests on individual components, subsystems, and entire systems to ensure they meet performance criteria. Documentation:

Preparing and maintaining accurate documentation of testing procedures, results, and any identified issues. Safety compliance:

Ensuring strict adherence to all safety regulations and procedures throughout the commissioning process. Problem-solving:

Identifying and troubleshooting any technical problems encountered during testing and implementing corrective actions. Communication and collaboration:

Effectively communicating with various stakeholders, including project managers, designers, contractors, and crew members. Leadership and mentoring:

In senior positions, supervising and mentoring junior commissioning engineers, providing guidance and training. Qualifications & Skills: HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline (Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.) or equivalent experience. Experience in shipboard commissioning, preferably in a shipyard environment. Strong understanding of shipboard systems and their functionalities. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
