Internal applicants who wish to be considered for a secondment opportunity should discuss with their line manager the suitability of a possible secondment. An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a dedicated and motivated Physiotherapist to become part of a dynamic and established Integrated Community Team (ICT) within the Forest of Dean, Tewkesbury, Newent & Staunton locality. The ICTs consist of Community Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Reablement who work closely with our co-located Adult Social Care colleagues. We have a role of 30 hours per week to join our fantastic physiotherapy team as a secondment opportunity or fixed-term contract ending 31/12/2025. The post will cover Physiotherapy as part of the Home First & Reablement Team across Forest and Tewkesbury bases.
We work in partnership with GPs, community hospitals, mental health services and voluntary organisations to enable people to live as independently as possible at home. The ethos of the team is focused around delivering person-centred rehabilitation at home, promoting independence and self-management.
This is a multifaceted role with a varied caseload incorporating both urgent and routine patients. The post holder will also be responsible for the delegation of work to other members of the Home First & Reablement team within the ICT, as well as holding a caseload. This is an ideal opportunity for a Band 5 therapist wanting a development opportunity or a Band 6 looking for a new challenge who would like to work in new ways across one of the rural communities of Gloucestershire.
Key Responsibilities: To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner; to work alone with access to guidance from highly specialised Physiotherapists within the trust. To be professionally and legally accountable for a designated patient caseload and to decide priorities for own work area, balancing other patient-related and professional demands. To triage incoming referrals, deciding on urgency, and either delegate appropriately or provide the relevant urgent response within a timely manner. To supervise, train, advise, support and manage physiotherapists, physiotherapy technicians/assistants, reablement workers, students and community care workers’ performance who report to the post-holder. To be responsible for the operational management of the team that reports to the post-holder; coordinating, allocating and organising the work of junior and assistant staff to meet service priorities.
