Our client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is seeking an experienced Senior Configuration Engineer. This role involves supporting the Configuration Manager on various projects, including overseeing product definition and configuration management for minor projects or significant parts of larger projects. The position requires a high level of initiative and a strong focus on order and quality to ensure the integrity of all elements that constitute the design for MBDA's products. Key Responsibilities: Support the Configuration Manager across various projects. Take charge of Product Definition and Configuration Management for minor projects or significant components of larger projects. Ensure the integrity of all design elements for the products. What do you need?: Demonstrates excellent team spirit and the ability to work collaboratively, adding value through contributions. Possesses a high level of knowledge in Configuration Management principles and their application within a demanding yet professional engineering environment. Maintains a strong concern for order and quality. Exhibits excellent communication skills across all levels, including verbal, written, and electronic. Builds rapport with stakeholders and positively promotes the Configuration Management group through a supportive and proactive approach with internal customers. Proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic. Capable of planning and delivering own workload efficiently. Aware of relevant internal and external customer requirements and standards. Highly proficient in IT literacy. Additional skills: Integrate engineering input into the design definition and structure using the company PLM tool, Windchill. Manage accurate design definitions for multiple product variants and implement engineering changes effectively. Review engineering changes to ensure adherence to business processes and project controls, approving or rejecting changes as necessary. Provide draft updates to Configuration Management documents ahead of review periods. Prepare comprehensively and timely for Configuration Meetings, supplying data to the Configuration Manager and project team as per agreed timelines. Ensure control of project design definitions throughout development, production, and in-service phases, providing comprehensive status accounting information to customers. Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders and act as the focal point for day-to-day activities with project and engineering teams. Offer support and guidance on Engineering Change methodologies relevant to the product or equipment lifecycle, ensuring processes are agreed upon, documented, and practiced. What happens now?
