Our client is a leading construction firm specialising in residential, commercial, and industrial projects, and they are looking to recruit a Senior Construction Planner in the West Midlands.

The Senior Planner will play a crucial role in project planning and scheduling, ensuring the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion. Your programming expertise and knowledge will play a critical part in proactively advising the construction and tender management team.

The Senior Construction Planner will have extensive experience in construction planning, scheduling, and project management, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Experience in Education, Commercial builds, and fast-paced Industrial builds is essential.

Senior Construction Planner Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to develop comprehensive project plans and schedules. Conduct thorough analysis of project requirements, constraints, and risks to identify critical path activities and mitigate potential delays. Monitor project progress and performance against established schedules, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions as necessary. Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve scheduling conflicts, optimize resource allocation, and ensure efficient utilization of resources. Provide regular updates and reports on project status, including progress against milestones, upcoming tasks, and potential risks. Lead planning meetings and reviews to communicate project schedules, objectives, and requirements to project teams and stakeholders. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and technologies related to construction planning and scheduling, incorporating innovative approaches into project plans.

Senior Construction Planner Requirements:

Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction planning, scheduling, and project management, ideally with a focus on Education, residential, commercial, or industrial. Proficiency in construction scheduling software such as ASTA, Microsoft Project, or similar tools. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project requirements and develop detailed schedules. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and mitigate project risks and constraints.
