Senior Consultant

to join a leading International Marine & Engineering Consultancy. The successful candidate will join the ABL Team in Aberdeen to support us in various projects and operations.

What you will be doing.

As our

Senior Consultant , you will be responsible for being the technical lead on project work, providing technical support and approval within their specialist field/discipline. The role will also be required at times to manage projects and client relationships to ensure quality delivery and continued growth. In addition, you will: Primary Responsibilities

Ensure execution of a variety of engineering, inspection, and maintenance projects in both an office and site-based engineering environment. Be responsible for project deliverables and working alongside the technical team to ensure the quality of what we deliver to clients. Interrogate with existing client maintenance strategies and procedures, Written Schemes of Examination and Job Routines, and extraction of relevant data for incorporation into new Master maintenance strategies. Review and approve amendments to equipment operational procedures, including isolation standards, system and equipment testing, run to failure (RTF) etc. Ensure that the condition and operation of equipment is in line with overall procedures, regulations, any unit-specific procedures, and client Performance Standards. Develop common equipment maintenance and inspection strategies and practices, to ensure sharing of best practices across all projects. Where required provide input to equipment studies such as HAZID / HAZOP, RBI and design reviews, to ensure legislative compliance and safety of personnel and equipment. Act as technical lead in your relevant discipline to support the project managers and team in the delivery of work scopes. Knowledge transferring and sharing with younger members of the team to aid in their understanding and development. Support in a variety of business development activities, including client meetings, proposal support etc. Support the growth of the business across the region through supporting country and business line managers. Project Management Responsibilities

Maintain close working relationships with key client contacts to identify and plan upcoming projects. Review and steer project progress reports covering planned vs. actual financial and technical performance. Support the sales invoicing process including review and sign-off of invoices ensuring they are compliant with contractual requirements as well as capturing all appropriate chargeable elements. Attend regular client meetings and present project progress reports. Control and track projects against time and budget constraints. Provide input and support in budget and forecasting throughout the year. Review and approval of time writing. Full accountability of project P&L. The role is based in

What we are looking for.

We are looking for a driven and solution-oriented professional with sound technical skills and good decision-making capabilities. The successful candidate will have good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal effectively with multiple issues and assignments simultaneously. In addition, you: Essential:

A minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience, with expertise within the engineering industry. Excellent computer literacy in Microsoft packages and familiarity with software-based maintenance systems, i.e. SAP, and MAXIMO. Previous experience in the design, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment (relevant discipline) and setting up proactive practices and predictive, preventative maintenance programs. Knowledge and experience of FMEA (failure mode effects analysis), RCA (root cause analysis), RCM (reliability-centered maintenance) and RBI (risk-based inspection) practices. Understanding and knowledge of oil and gas international/national codes, standards of practice and legislation including knowledge of international standards such as RBI and ASME / API. Safety Performance Standards Ability to knowledge share (transmit and receive lessons learned) across project teams. Effective decision-maker with demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to empathize with clients, build relationships and generate new business. Desirable Skills:

BSc or equivalent technical qualification in a related subject e.g. Mechanical Engineering or Reliability Engineering. Knowledge of equipment reliability engineering, commissioning and pre-commissioning. Experience in using project management tools to ensure jobs are delivered to client standards. Previous experience in training graduate engineers. Leadership and project management experience.
