Site visits and travel will be required across the area, and occasional overnight stays will be necessary.
Applicants are required to have an academic background in Engineering, Geomorphology, or Hydrology, and a technical background working for a UK-based Consultancy or Local Authority specializing in flood risk, geomorphology, flood mitigation, and hydrology.
Candidates must possess a valid driving license to attend site visits and have a keen interest in project management, mentoring, and liaising with Clients and Contractors.
It is beneficial for applicants to reside in the Midlands as you will be required in the office 2-3 times per week. The remainder of the week will be site-based across the UK, with potential overnight travel.
As a Senior Consultant, you will be required to complete flood resilience and flood sensing projects across the UK for Public and Private Sector Clients. You will be expected to complete the following:
Site visits to gauge technical and consenting requirements prior to sensing implementation. Hydrological assessments and flood risk assessments of sites. Review and interpret flood risk and drainage maps to assist with consenting requirements. Conduct site audits to ensure pre/post installation works are completed on time and within budget. Report writing and presentations highlighting findings from site surveys and installations for various audiences. Develop flood risk mitigation strategies. Manage subcontractors to deliver products/services to Clients on time and within budget. Liaise with technical team members to detect and respond to flood issues, coordinate site contractors, and discuss progress with Clients. Meet with Stakeholders and Government bodies to gain consent permissions. Adhere to consenting processes prior to installation, following the consenting process. Review, amend, and approve technical flood risk solutions offered by technical staff and contractors. Deliver and maintain sensors across the UK. Prepare bids, technical reports, and market research reports.
