What will you be doing? As a Senior Associate Content Designer at the FCA you will work within a specialist user-centred design (UCD) team to help increase the maturity of UCD across the organisation. You will provide expert content design support to emerging multi-disciplinary digital product teams to design new products and services that help our users achieve their goals. Design user-focused content that simplifies complex language and processes. Prioritise accessibility and inclusion to create products for diverse users. Advocate for the value of content design and support less experienced designers in doing the same. Make content decisions that improve engagement, increase usage, reduce dropouts, and enhance data quality. Use and contribute to the FCA Design System's style guides and content patterns, encouraging others to follow suit. Actively participate in the FCA content community, mentor junior content designers, and foster stakeholder relationships – you may be a line manager to 1 or more content designers as the team grows. Minimum Substantial experience working as a Content Designer within any of the following types of organisations or sectors: financial services, government/regulatory body, technology, consultancy (ideally IT consultancy). Substantial experience working as a Content Designer in a project/programme environment involving digital transformation and business changes. Essential A deep understanding of language and human behaviour, and significant experience using this to communicate complex information in a straightforward and accessible way. Experience of user-centred design ways of working and how content design integrates with other roles to achieve successful outcomes. Use quantitative and qualitative data about users to inform content design decisions. Significant experience writing, editing and publishing digital content, and experience in using content management systems and content production processes to publish content. An understanding of different prototyping techniques, from paper sketches to coded prototypes, and ability to use them to visualise content in context. Identify key stakeholders, tailor your communication to their needs, and work with teams to build relationships while also meeting user needs. Ability to think strategically – defining content approaches and guiding others to think in this way, and evaluating strategies against business requirements and user needs.
