The Position

To provide robust, effective product design solutions to the business to ensure it meets its responsibilities to customers and regulatory bodies. Key Accountabilities

Provide a high level of software design output through a thorough understanding of internal and external customer and regulatory requirements. Continuously apply innovative thought to ensure the company's software design services offer maximum value to our customers. Provide a high level of commercial awareness to ensure software design solutions are delivered in the most cost-effective manner and scope changes are managed in accordance with the company’s standard operating procedures. Ensure schedules are understood and workload and resources are managed so that deliveries are met. Ensure software design output is in line with the company’s standard operating procedures and relevant regulatory requirements. Effectively communicate project status to team members, management, customers, and suppliers. Play a proactive role in the department's continuous improvement programme. Assist Technical Sales, Innovations, and Applications Team to ensure that all proposals are technically viable through due diligence. Provide the business with the required information to establish a project's performance relative to its KPIs. Perform the role of software lead at internal and external design review meetings. Mentor Software Engineers to ensure the quality of the design output and achievement of deadlines. Manage suppliers to ensure quality of output and achievement of deadlines. Support the Control Systems Manager in the management of facilities and tools. Perform a proactive role in the commissioning and post-installation activities at customer sites in the UK or overseas to ensure a successful FAT and SAT. Always strive to add value to our customers, building partnerships based on trust, respect, and flexibility. Key Responsibilities

Provide a high level of skill in interpreting the customer’s and regulatory requirements to ensure software designs are perfectly aligned. Being constantly commercially aware to maximise value to our customers and maintain a loyal customer base. Ensure the relevant software design documents are issued in line with the schedule enabling agreed deliveries to be met. Ensure that software design quality is maintained throughout the project by verifying in collaboration with the Control Systems Manager. Communicate accurate project status to the Programme Manager, internal and external customers, and suppliers. Compile information and report to the business on the project performance relative to the department's KPIs. Perform the role of software lead during internal and external design review meetings. Provide the software design team with clear design briefs and schedule requirements. Plan resource requirements with the Control Systems Manager to develop project milestones. Apply technical due diligence by being process risk aware. Support the machine commissioning process to a successful FAT and SAT. Ensure all relevant design documents are controlled and archived. Work with all Mpac Lambert colleagues to ensure compliance with ISO14001, ISO9001, and OHSAS18001. Ensure that our internal customer ethos is delivered and maintained. Knowledge and Experience

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. Proficient in the use of Rockwell and Siemens programming platforms. Experience in the software design of industrial automation in a manufacturing environment. Experience in the validation procedures and application of GAMP. Commercially aware of the effective use of resources. Knowledge of British and international standards relative to the design and installation of industrial automation systems. Experience of conducting assessments and generating technical documents. Experience of supervising and mentoring a software design team. Experience in evaluating technical requirements and providing viable solutions. Experience in managing both long and short-term project team resource requirements. Skills and Qualifications

Integration of robotics, vision systems, and servo motion into industrial automation solutions. HNC, HND, or BSC in a relevant engineering discipline. Sound interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritise work within tight timescales. Relationship and Reporting Line
