About the role

The Finance function is led by the Chief Financial Officer and comprises four specialist, centralised teams, and three business commercial teams, supported by a small CFO Office. This is an important position within Finance Operations, which will report directly to the Head of Billing. As a Senior Credit Controller, you will be responsible for the management of aged debt collections process across the abrdn Group. This position offers significant variety and opportunity to continually develop and transform the existing processes. While there is not necessarily direct line management involved, you will be expected to mentor and offer support to more junior members of the team. The role holder must excel in matrix management and cross functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement aged debt strategy:

Review and enhance existing aged debt collections process Along with Billing Manager, develop, drive and deliver the group strategy Set monthly collections targets to maintain low levels of aged debt Work towards a best-in-class collection process

Manage group aged debt reporting:

Develop appropriate aged debt reporting to facilitate variety of stakeholders Present results to management and key stakeholders

Point of escalation / manage key stakeholders:

Act as point of escalation for any aged debt related queries Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships such as Client Management Team

Manage interim and annual audit requests:

Act as credit control subject matter expert (SME) during audit and liaise with auditors to answer any questions / requests

Projects:

Act as a credit control SME for projects and strategic initiatives.

About the candidate

Extensive experience in a similar credit control role ideally within investment management or a financial services environment. Credit control qualifications preferred Proficiency in financial systems and ERPs (e.g. Oracle). Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to handle large datasets and complex models. Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills including proficiency in PowerPoint. Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and clients Strives for quality with attention to detail and accuracy. Our Benefits
