We are looking to enhance our team and currently have a vacancy for an experienced Senior Credit Policy Analyst. Purpose of Role: As a key member of the Credit Risk Policy team, the role holder will support sustainable business growth through: Supporting the development of prudent, commercially focused lending criteria through an awareness of changing market conditions and how these may open up opportunities. Supporting business functions such as New Lending, Products, Sales, Legal, and Treasury, using your expertise and market knowledge. Supporting the oversight of lending decisions as directed by Foundation Home Loans Risk Committees or other forums, and/or the Chief Risk Officer. Open and honest communication. Key Accountabilities: Act as liaison between Credit Policy and New Lending and ensure lending manuals reflect minimum credit policy requirements. Ownership and monitoring of referrals and escalations to the credit policy department from underwriting or other business areas, ensuring responses are within agreed SLAs. Support growth by reviewing new lending propositions against criteria, appetite, and applicable regulatory principles to make recommendations as to the viability. Prepare proposals papers for senior management review and approval. Assist in the production of risk committee or other fora deliverables. Update all lending policies, as required, to reflect Foundation Home Loans risk appetite, maintaining a change log as required. Ensure relevant compliance with all applicable FCA regulations, Data Protection, Money Laundering legislation, and TCF. Support the Risk Manager, and deputize at fora as required. Be an active participant in meetings and other fora. Support the development of colleagues through guidance and mentoring. Essential Competencies: Hold, or recently held, an underwriting mandate that reflects your full understanding of underwriting, risk assessment, and ability to train and guide colleagues. Excellent understanding of the mortgage market and product lifecycle. Good written and verbal communication skills. Self-starter, able to get involved in on-the-ground activities. Strong problem-solving skills. The ability to build and maintain key relationships and manage stakeholders effectively. ‘Can Do’ collaborative team member with the ability to manage competing priorities. Essential Skills/Qualifications: Financial services experience with strong knowledge of secured lending. Previous experience in commercial secured lending would be advantageous. An understanding of key risk drivers for both consumer and limited companies. Strong IT skills. Our people embrace our values: Fair
