As a member of the Level 3 Support Services team, the Senior Customer Support Engineer is a leading technical resource for delivery of support and information to Tait teams and customers around the world via remote electronic mediums and at times, on-site technical support services. The Senior Customer Support Engineer encompasses broad and well-developed technical skills. In this role, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert when it comes to operating and configuring complex radio systems and diagnosing non-conforming functionality to an operating system level. Tait operates in a complex critical communications environment with a wide variety of customers and diversity of applications. Given this, we are primarily seeking individuals with a highly developed practical knowledge of technical systems, including complex system designs and installations. In addition to your technical skills, you will be highly customer-focused and have excellent diplomacy skills. This role will provide the leadership required to other engineers to achieve the team goals, which may mean supporting other functional areas, international travel, and providing after-hours on-call support. To be successful in this role, you will have an Engineering degree/diploma/certificate in a related field or the equivalent work experience, as well as: A highly developed practical knowledge of radio systems, including RF system design and installation is desired. Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems at the command line level. IP networking experience including Security Certificates, Routing for DMZ's/Firewalls, and Cloud integrated systems. LTE/Wifi technologies experience. Experience with DMR and/or P25 Digital Radio Infrastructure and Terminals configuration and support. Prefer at least 5 years' experience with Land Mobile Radio equipment, trunking systems, and/or LTE integrated systems. Preference for some familiarity with the concepts and usage of ITIL Service Management principles. Testing of solutions and software - methodology and execution. Ngā painga - what's in it for you?
