The Senior Data Analyst position will give the right candidate an insightful view into the world of payments. Here is a quick summary of the role:
Oversee the production of Pay.UK management information (MI) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting for both operational and strategic priorities
Develop and manage the data analysis processes and procedures; ensure all MI reporting outputs and deliverables are provided on a timely basis. Present KPI reports and key findings to management and senior stakeholders in team, management and executive level meetings, taking them through the data story
Provide advice and guidance to ensure effective provision of quantitative and qualitative analysis in support of Pay.UK strategy and development initiatives
Guide the development of strategic insight and research to support the payment ecosystem and oversee the distribution of published material, leveraging commercial opportunities as appropriate
Ensure a good understanding of the end-to-end payments landscape combining insights and data internally across Pay.UK, stakeholder engagement and horizon scanning of the industry leveraging from internal and external market analytics capabilities.
Facilitate the transparency of the ecosystem to the supplier market.
Contribute to the development of, and apply data strategy, including developing and maintaining associated Data Policies that enable Pay.UK strategy and ecosystem needs (GDPR), and initiate commercial opportunities that may arise from data exploitation.
Key Accountabilities:
Manage the production of Pay.UK KPIs and other management reporting
Apply effective stakeholder engagement and ensure requirements are captured and delivered to the desired level of quality and on a timely manner
Oversee regular data collection from participants, vendors, third parties and ensure Quality Assurance in the data received from customers, vendors and third parties
Support with day-to-day management of key internal and external stakeholders on BAU report production
Oversee the production of regular reporting and publications together with detailed analyses and presentations as required by internal and external stakeholders
Present the KPI and executive level reporting pack as the report subject matter expert
Work with Research & Innovation, Product, Payments Operations, Business Development to develop the insights capability to inform strategic decision making
Standardize all reports and publications with the use of D&A templates where relevant and ensure reporting terminology and compliance with data definitions are met, to provide a consistent message
Develop efficiency and automation of reporting leveraging Big Data technologies with advanced functions, tools and applications
Engage with business areas and facilitate the effective development of required MI dashboards and reports are produced within agreed timeframes
Facilitates the establishment, development and introduction of self-service reporting and analytical tools adopted across the business, providing advice and guidance as relevant
Oversees the production of ad-hoc reports and publications, together with detailed analyses and presentations as required for a wide range of Pay.UK stakeholders, liaising with them or their representatives, as appropriate, in terms of content and timely provision
Translate key business problems into creative/ insightful analytical dashboards/ analyses using data science and predictive modelling techniques
Carry out descriptive and diagnostic analysis by querying SQL databases to identify root cause or critical insights
Ensures the provision of high-quality quantitative analysis to support Pay.UK strategy along with evaluation of proposals and projects, facilitating effective liaison with Pay.UK Directorates and stakeholders
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Skilled stakeholder management and communication
Ability to present KPI reports to Senior stakeholders and large audiences
Good knowledge and experience developing dashboard and reports in Power BI & Power BI Service or other visualisation tools
Good knowledge and experience working with SQL databases including query, design and modelling
Ability to anticipate and identify potential risks, limitations as well as opportunities, related to reporting accuracy and timeliness of delivery
