A bit about the job: This role will deliver 2nd line oversight and challenge to the Aviva Group Business with specific responsibility for the oversight of data governance, data privacy and emerging data risk exposures. You’ll identify opportunities to improve data risk management across Aviva as part of the BAU and change and transformation activities and provide Oversight of the data management (data governance and privacy) frameworks and associated data strategy. You’ll support management in delivering a robust Data Management Framework in accordance with the overarching Risk Management Framework to ensure that Aviva achieves its business objectives. You’ll lead with a strong risk voice to support management in the understanding, assessment and management of their data risks and associated key controls to help make better business decisions and support good customer outcomes. Skills and experience we’re looking for: Experience and knowledge of Data Governance and Privacy processes, controls, and risks are essential. Understanding of Operational Risk practices is ideal, but not essential. Ability to understand data strategy, including data architecture would be ideal along with a knowledge of Data Quality and metadata standards. A knowledge of Finance would be great, but not essential. Ability to ‘join the dots’, spotting emerging trends and therefore risks to the business. Strong written & visual communication skills with the ability to challenge at all levels – not afraid to stand out. What you’ll get for this role: National salary – circa £80,000, London salary – circa £90,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications) Bonus opportunity - 12% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
