Annual salaries vary depending on experience level and position. Job Description: We're seeking an innovative Senior Data Scientist who excels in problem-solving, leadership, and the application of machine learning to complex datasets. As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll lead the way in data exploration, visualization, and integrating algorithms into client solutions, with opportunities to expand your skill set. Ideal candidates will bring expertise in Python, data science methodologies, and stakeholder management. Bring your passion for data science to a team focused on impactful client projects, where prior experience in defense is an advantage but not a requirement. Senior Data Scientists play a pivotal role in comprehending intricate business challenges and formulating them into testable hypotheses for comprehensive analysis. As a senior member of the data science capability team, you will collaborate within a diverse, multi-disciplinary team, engaging in an array of client projects. Leveraging cutting-edge machine learning techniques and an astute analytical mindset, you will deliver profound insights to our clients. Your responsibilities span from intricate data exploration and visualization to seamlessly integrating algorithms into software and constructing sophisticated data processing pipelines for presentation to our customers. As a seasoned professional, your relentless pursuit of knowledge will drive you to explore and master new tools and techniques. Leadership requirements: Experience, communication skills, decision-making, problem-solving, strategic thinking, team building, motivational skills, innovation, delegation, collaboration, emotional intelligence. Key Qualifications: A degree or equivalent practical experience in a pertinent numerate discipline such as mathematics, physics, economics, engineering, or a related field. Demonstrated knowledge and application of statistical and machine learning techniques to address challenges posed by large, intricate datasets. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with an advantageous background in stakeholder management. Proficiency in programming and data handling using R, Python, or equivalent languages. Proven track record of developing end-to-end data science solutions, ranging from proof of concept to successful delivery. Preferred Experience: Proficiency in Python application frameworks like Django or Flask. Expertise in preparing and managing applications with DevOps practices. Familiarity with Agile project delivery methods. Experience in relational databases, including but not limited to SQL and Oracle. Background in the defence or related industry. Expertise in utilizing BI tools such as PowerBI or Tableau. Proficiency in version control systems (git) and familiarity with CI/CD development approaches. Hybrid Working and Travel: Client is based in the Centre of Bristol, with modern, functional, and spacious office facilities. Although we offer a hybrid approach, sometimes we do require staff to be in the office or on client site, and as a team we all benefit from some collaborative in-person working when appropriate.
